Where is best to stay in the Cebu, Philippines? I am going to Cebu in July for one week. I want to be by a beach where I can do some scuba diving. I have read that Moalboal is the best area. Have you been? Ir can you recommend any other areas? I am also looking for accommodation. All I seem to be able to find are beach resorts charging $145 a night which is too expensive for me. I'm looking for backpacker accommodations. If you know anywhere please advise. Thanks
Please help me find the perfect Philippine Beach Resort.? My wife and I are looking for a philippine beach resort. We went to Coco Grove Resort last year and looking for a similar resort. Looking for a resort with a pool, on the beach, tropical setting, able to drive to from Manila or Cebu for under $100/night. Can you help?
Hotels and Resorts in or around Cebu? I am preferably looking for an affordable ($0-$100 USD) per night place that is nice to stay, located on the beach or not more than a half hour from a good beach. Basically, the best deal for the money. Know of any places I haven't already found on the net? A lot of the expensive tourist ones are listed(mostly on Mactan Island) but maybe there are some I haven't found. Thanks.
I have Spanish guest visiting Cebu and would like to feel "authentic Filipino way of living", any suggestions? They are going to be here on January. I have to book them to a beach resort or an island where there are less tourist and great facade. Of course, the scenery must be beautiful. Please help me with where I should let them stay. Thanks. How could La Luz be in Cebu, it is in Manila... I do understand Plantation Bay is nice but it is too modern and expensive. Maybe somewhere cheaper and nothing much fancy. Just a simple leaving nearby the beach. plantation has too many tourists I guess.
Has anyone stayed at the Boracay Beach Resort? Hello! I was able to take advantage of the Cebu Pacific P1.00 seat sale and booked ourselves tickets to Boracay this June. Has anyone stayed at the cottages of the Boracay Beach Resort? I got a very good rate from them but I haven't seen the place or read that many reviews. Their website only features their suites. Please let me know if it's an ok place to stay with my husband and 2 year old daughter.
vacation to Cebu --> pocket money? Hey =]... I haven't been to the Philippine for almost 7 years now, and im planning to go back to Cebu this summer, and i'll be staying there for about 5 to 6 weeks.... Is 1000 canadian dollars (around 41, 500 PHP) enough for a pocket money? or is it lacking? ~I dont have to worry about where i'm staying because we still have houses there (so i'm deff. not spending my money there..) but i am planning to stay at a couple of resorts for a couple of days (i.e. Plantation bay/Shrangri-La or Cebu beach club) ~I'm planning to go to bohol/bantayan and manila ~I dont plan to eat out everyday but i do plan to eat a lot =D ~and of course, most of the money is going towards shopping So is the money enough... if not. can anyone estimate how much should i bring? Thanks =D

Anyone from cebu? If you are from cebu or have been vacationing in cebu, what is a good place to visit besides all those mentioned in the internet, like the hotels, taoist temple, etc. I want to know other places that haven't been mentioned in the internet even though its not really a famous tourist site. Also, do you know any public beach in cebu? I'm actually from the mactan island in cebu, where most of the resorts are. I'm not looking for a place to stay though because we have a house there, I'm just looking for places to tour around.
Beach access on Mactan Island, Philippines? I have booked a week at the Crown Regency Suites on Mactan Island (Cebu Philippines) the 1st week of January 2012. Since our hotel is not located directly on the beach, my girlfriend and I would like to know about beach access on Mactan. Are there public beaches available or is it all privately owned by the major resorts and residents? Also, are the public beaches safe for tourists? If there is no beach public access, can a person pay a fee to access the resort beaches? We are very interested in renting a Nipa Hut on the beach for the day, as we've seen these in pictures from there. Any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for your time and thoughtfulness in responding to my inquiry. Salamat po!!

Transpo for Cebu and Bohol - getting around.? Hi. I'm going on a return trip to Bohol and I just need a few tips on getting around. First, I'm going to be landing in Cebu, but I'll be arriving 9pm. I was planning to stay in Sugbutel since it was the cheapest I could find. I won't be staying more than 8 hours and I was wondering if there was anyway to commute out of the airport other than a taxi at that time of the night? I've not had a very pleasant experience with Cebu city taxis. Alternatively, if anyone could suggest an another place to stay that costs below 500 which is near the airport and which is also decent, that would be great. Since I'm going solo, I have my own misgivings about checking in at a place like Sugbutel, although their amenities and the place itself seems comfy enough. But just wondering if there was another place near the airport as well that might offer a solo room at a relatively cheap price. Second, what are the jeepney routes I could possibly take to get to the pier? I'll be riding Supercat to Bohol. Third, I'll be staying at a resort somewhere in Alona beach and the quote on the service car was Php500 one way. I'm backpacking solo this time and I was thinking of just taking the tricycle or possibly a cab. I'm guessing it's way cheaper. Any suggestions on this would be helpful. Thank you so much.

Traveling to Boracay? I'm considering vacationing in Boracay during the holidays (last 2 weeks of December) and have the following questions - - What is the best way to get to Boracay from Taiwan? I've heard either fly to Manila and take a ferry to Boracay or fly directly to an airport closer to Boracay? - How is Boracay these days? The beautiful beach/sand is very well known but many fear that the island has gotten way too commercialized and croweded. Is it going to be very busy/crowded during Xmas holidays? - Loding options.. according to the online resource, the average rate seems to be affordable but most hotel/resort website show extremely high rates during the holidays (over $200 USD/night). Is this real? - How is Boracay compared to other beach destinations around the world such as Hawaii (Maui), Cancun Mexico or Maldives? - Heard Cebu is a nice beach destination in the Philippines? Is it recommended over Boracy? Any info is very much appreciated!!!
