Tide tables for coastal trails? This summer, I'm planning on hiking the Lost Coast Trail in California. I do know that I need I tide table so as to not get caught during high tide. First of all, I'm having trouble finding information on how to read a tide table. Is it essentially telling me where not to be at what time due to high tides? Also, will tide tables be available at the trailhead or where I'm going to hike, or will I have to find my own? Thanks!
California Coast Trail? I am thinking of doing the California Coast Trail, but the only available time I have to do it is between February to late April. I am Canadian, so for us February to May are cold months, but my partner cycled the coastal route from Vancouver to San Fransisco from February to April last year, and said that is was coldish only in February. Californians - do you think it would be nuts to do this trail in the winter?
