Can we bring snacks onboard when flying United Airlines? It's a domestic flight from Wichita to Denver to San Francisco and THEN to Crescent City, CA, so it's going to be a long day, with 3 lay-overs. Also, my husband will be in a wheelchair (not onboard - thru the airport terminals only), so would be better off checking our luggage, or using carry-on. He'd have to hold it on his lap.
Why is warmer on the Washington coast? Why is it almost always warmer on the Washington coast than the northern California coast during the summer? Average June/July/August temperatures for: Crescent City, CA 63/65/66 La Push, WA 64/68/69 Today it is going to be 70 in La Push while in Crescent City the projected high is only 65. They are both on the Pacific Coast, and wouldn't the waters at a more northerly latitude be cooler and thus keep temperatures cooler on the Washington coast? To the east of both there are mountain ranges, and the inland places experience much warmer temperatures, but why is it different for the coastal regions?
Where is the most beautiful part of California? My pick is Del Norte County, Crescent City, CA. The last county in California before you hit Oregon on the coast. How's my grammar for my online class introduction? Hey everybody! My name is Chase (it says James but my name is Chase - I've always gone by "Chase" since day 1 - long story) and I am 19-years-old, turning 20-years-old next month on July 12th! : ) To be honest, I have no idea what I want to be; for some reason I haven't had a "true" calling but I'll find it sooner or later hopefully. I was also born in Crescent City, CA and moved to Ukiah when I was 2-years-old, but I've visited Crescent City and Smith River ever since I was little 'cause it's like a second and third home to me. Crescent City and Smith River are both beautiful places; they're surrounded by the ocean and both towns are really small but are truly breathtaking. I know this may sound far-fetched and all, but I would love to be a best-selling author; writing is something very important to me and I am currently writing three books as well. It's definitely a tough business - being an author - but hopefully I can break into it somehow, some way. And lastly, I would LOVE to visit The United Kingdom because it has so much history and it truly is a beautiful place with all the classic architecture and history. ------------ Is it bad or good? It's for my English 200 class. : /
My Girlfriend Broke Up With Me, But I Still Love Her...Please Help? We had been dating for two years. She's just moved and started college up in Salem, and I decided to visit on our second year dating anniversary. The last day I was up there, she brought up the subject about our relationship. We both agreed that God wasn't a priority, and we decided to take a break so we may grow in God, seperately. It hasn't even been a month since then and she's crushing on another guy already...She lives in Salem, OR and I live in Crescent City, CA...that's a brutally long distance. She's been telling me recently that she's uncertain we'll get back together. So, I'm trapped in a small town filled with nothing but two years of memories with this girl, whom I still love...and I don't know what to do...because I feel I can't get over her...I want to marry this girl...what should I do?
As an Oregon resident I do not have to pay sales tax in Washington. So why do I have to pay tax in California? I live in Portland, OR and I often make purchases in Washington. I dont have to pay tax if I show my ID. In Crescent City, CA I didn't get charged sales tax after showing my ID, but everyone in LA thinks I have to pay sales tax. Are the northern cities in CA that are close to oregon breaking tax law? Or is all of southern CA charging taxes they shouldn't? If I buy a car in CA I don't have to pay the taxes on it, and I dont get charged for sales tax in Northern CA when I show my Oregon ID. Is the majority of Southern CA charging taxes they shouldn't?
Is this a better start to my story? It's something i just decided to write on a whim. Just for fun i have no plans on publishing it or anything like that. Please feel free to criticize and give comments. Thanks! I brushed a lock of wavy deep auburn hair out of my eyes and looked at my new school. It was big, full of students, covered in ivy and oh yeah scary! After losing my mother and older brother in a drunk driving accident, my father and I moved to the town where his work was based, little ole Crescent City, CA. Just twenty miles south of Oregon it wasn’t hot year round like down in L.A. maybe a bit more cloudy and ever changing weather. My father, John Connors, was heartbroken after the accident and spent the better half of his vacation days laying in bed with the curtains closed. I would come home from school hoping to find him better but he was always the same, curled in his sheets eyes squeezed shut trying to block out reality. Being the only one left behind and still sane, I spent that time packing up all of my brothers things, a task which usually left me in tears but I continued. My brother James was my older twin by like four minutes, he was gone too. We were best friends, always did stuff together, had the same friends, and he always stood up for me, now I would have to do that. My mother loved names that started with the same letters that’s why she named us Jayden and James well actually by age it would be James and Jayden. Anyways, I’ve gone a bit off the subject of moving to Crescent City and my new school. So after much scrambling to pack everything, find a house, transfer papers and time to get familiar with the town I was sent off to school at old Del Norte High school. Home of the warriors, it had me wishing I was as brave; being the new kid wasn't easy. I clutched the straps of my backpack and began walking down the long locker lined walls of the High school. Class hadn't started yet so lots of the kids were outside; I could feel hot stares burning into the back of my head as I stumbled down the unfamiliar halls. As I passed I could hear faint whispers, of “Who is she?” “Do you know her?” “She’s kind of cute!” which made me feel even more awkward then I was, finally I reached the office, where I entered. “Hi, I’m Jayden Connors, I faxed my papers just the other day,” I announced approaching the desk. The woman behind the desk was a friendly larger woman with a fancy up do and a pretty modern fashion style. “oh hi sweetie! Call me Mrs. Johns I have your papers right here, along with your schedule. Your first period class is just down this hall,” she remarked pointing down the phosphorescently lit hallway. I thanked her promptly and headed for my first class, Home Ec. As I was heading to my classroom myself and one other kid were rammed into the lockers by some passing guy.... I would vote on answers but i'm not allowed since i'm only level one. Sorry!!! :(
Does this sound like a good start to my newest story? This is something i started on a whim so please criticize and tell me what you think. I brushed a lock of wavy deep auburn hair out of my bright celery green eyes and looked at my new school. It was big, full of students, covered in ivy and oh yeah scary! Everyone was staring at me as I walked into the school looking for the office to pick up my schedule. Some were curious stares, others were threatening stares from other girls and a few were “checking out” stares. She goes on to try and befriend the school bully and yadda yadda yadda, eventually it turns into a hopeless love story. i just wanted to know what people thought of the start, if it grabbed anyone's attention.

Can you transfer a section 8 housing voucher to a different county prior to using it? Can you tell them you wanna move before you have rented a place in the program in your current town? And does this apply everywhere; I.E. will all housing authorities allow you to do this? For instance, I am in Crescent City ca and am transfering to the university and getting my section 8 voucher soon, but the university is in another county. Can I just tell them I want to move to a specific area right away, and will they allow this? Or must I live in my area with the voucher first? I've lived here for like 5 years. I've heard confilicting stories out of different areas. Please help! they won't tell me when I call.
Is this and A paper???? im writing a report on Nevada and need to know if this is good. It will say look here for pics but there on a cologe so these are just words... Nevada The state of Nevada was claimed as the 36th state on October 31, 1864.Thats when it became an official state. Nevada’s nicknames are Sagebrush State, Battle Born State, and the most known nickname is the Silver State. The meaning of the name of our state “Nevada” is snow-capped in Spanish. Here are some facts about Nevada; the population is about 1,998,257 people. It’s the 35th largest state (2000 census). Nevada’s Capital is Carson City. The state bird is the Mountain Bluebird and the state animal is the Desert Bighorn. The state flower is Sagebrush and the state tree is Single-leaf Pinon and the Bristlecone Pine. Our state precious gemstone is the Virgin Valley Black Fire Opal. The state song is Home Means Nevada. Home means Nevada, Home means the hills. Home means the sage and the pine. Out by the Truckee’s silvery rills. Out where the sun always shines. There is the land that I love the best, fairer than all I can see. Right in the heart of the golden West, Home means Nevada to me. Our state colors or silver and blue. And the state flag has a green reef looking type of thing on it with yellow flowers. Its says Nevada under a white star. Above the white star there is a scroll saying battle born. The background color of the flag is navy blue. Our states motto is “all for our country.” Here is a picture of what our state looks like, Here is a picture of Carson city, our capital. Nevada is the home of the wild mustangs, which is one of my favorite things about the state. Nevada is bordered by Utah,Arazona,California,Oregon, and Idaho. Here is a timeline of dates that are important to Nevada. • 1821 Mexico claimed the area after a successful revolt against Spain. • 1840's Americans on the way to California traveled through the region. • 1848 Nevada was part of the area ceded by Mexico to the United States. • 1849 The first non-Indian settlement was made at Mormon Station (Genoa). • 1850 When Utah Territory was organized, almost all of present-day Nevada was included except the southern tip, which was then part of the New Mexico Territory. • 1859 The Comstock Lode of gold and silver was discovered at Virginia City, and many miners began coming from California. • 1861 Congress created Nevada Territory. In 1862 the territory was enlarged by shifting the eastern boundary. • 1863 Nevada became a state. In 1866 and 1867 more eastern land was gained from Utah Territory and the southern tip was acquired from Arizona Territory. • 1880 - 1890 As the Comstock Lode declined, the state's population fell from 62,000 to 47,000. • 1900 The discovery of silver at Tonopah, soon followed by gold strikes at Goldfield and the discovery of copper at Ely, led to a new mining boom that lasted until after World War I. Those are some very important history dates of Nevada. One thing you guys might know about Nevada, is Sarah Winnemucca. This is what the wikipedia says about her in the first paragraph, Sarah Winnemucca (born Thocmentony, Paiute: Shell Flower )which is now western Nevada… (ca. 1841 – October 17, 1891) was notable for being the first Native American woman known to secure a copyright and to publish in the English language. She was also known by her married name, Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins, under which she was published. Her book, Life Among the Paiutes: Their Wrongs and Claims, is an autobiographical account of her people during their first forty years of contact with explorers and settlers. Sarah was a person of two worlds. At the time of her birth her people had only very limited contact with Euro-Americans; however she spent much of her adult life in white society. Like many people of two worlds, she may be judged harshly in both contexts. Many Paiutes view her as a collaborator who helped the U.S. Army kill her people. Modern historians view her book as an important primary source, but one that is deliberately misleading in many instances. Despite this, Sarah has received much positive attention recently for her activism. She was inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame in 1993, and in 2005 a statue of her was added to the National Statuary Hall Collection in the U.S. Capitol. That says a lot about her. Sarah Winnemucca is very well known for bringing peace between Americans and Indians. Nevada is well known for her. Because she was born in what is now western Nevada. She is now in the Nevada hall of fame. Nevada is apart of the Great Basin desert. You can see many miles of beautiful mountains, sagebrush, animals, and so much more!!! Nevada has one of the lowest average rainfalls out of the fifty states: nine inches. You may have heard the poem Mountains as Islands which says the following, Mountains as Islands Each range here is like a warship standing on its own, and the Great Basin is an ocean of loose sediment with these mountain ranges standing in it as if they were members of a fleet without precedent, assembled at Guam to assault Japan. Some of the ranges are forty miles long, others a hundred, a hundred and fifty. They point generally north. The basins that separate them-ten and fifteen miles wide-will run on for fifty, a hundred, two hundred and fifty miles with lone, daisy-petalled windmills standing over sage and wild rye. …Discounting the cry of the occasional bird, the wailing of a pack of coyotes, silence-a great spatial silence- is pure in the Basin and Range. It is a soundless immensity with mountains in it. -John McPhee Basin and Range, 1980 this is a 4th grade papeer just so you know... just read my own paper and fell asleep geese this paper sucks!
