Which Hawaii island should I visit?
I'm looking for a quiet place that doesn't have crowded beaches and over-booked hotels. Something secluded and relaxing with beautiful scenery where I can go snorkeling and cliff-diving.

- Kaanapali Beach I like :)
- I must say Maui. Their beaches aren't crowded and its beautiful. I suggest you stay somewhere along the shores of ka'anapali. Beach is beautiful, you get the sunset (since its in the west) and the beach is not crowded whatsoever. Ka'anapali is near Lahaina, an old town with many activities to do (submarine, parasailing, diving, etc.) Ka'anapali has an area, Black Rock, great for snorkeling. However, I suggest you take the trip from Maui to Molokini, a sunken volcanic crater that's the most BEAUTIFUL place to snorkel. You can see right through the water... All in all, go to Maui!
- Maui is very good and some beaches are secluded.
- Although I love Maui, if you want quiet, then Kauai is your kind of place. First off in Kauai, they have laws that saws they can't build taller then a palm tree, thus, no high rises. It has beautiful beaches, great snorkeling and is very tropical. Many movies are shot on Kauai because it is so lush. You can drive from one end to the other in about 2 hours, so you are talking a pretty small island. To me all of the above is what makes it so special.
- have to agree... Maui is the best island for vacationing. The beaches especially on the west side are beautiful and not crowded and lots of other things of interest to do. The Kannapali area on Maui is great and there is great snorkling right off the beach there at Black Rock. \ Do the Road to Hana ..its worthwhile and also up the valcano is pretty spectacular. The Big Island would be #2 and Ohau #3
- Then Maui is the place for you. I went last Oct. It is very relaxing and breath taking seanory. Kanapali beach is the best for snorkling. (try the snuba, combo of diving/snorkling) its far better. There is a book called "Maui reveled" they come out with a new version every so often. They also have them on the other islands too. I might read some of them.
