Are there any beautiful beaches in Mainland China?

My friend and I was just talking about Hainan and the beautiful beaches there. Are there beautiful beaches in Mainland China? and if so, where? :-)

1. Hainan Dao probably has the most beautiful beaches in China. I've not traveled along the southern coastline, so I can't tell you what kind of beaches are there. However, the beaches in Qingdao are beautiful as well. Probably much more crowded, though! Plus, weather conditions aren't the same and I got to enjoy snowfall on the beach in Qingdao on Christmas Day (a long time ago!). Enjoy!
2. The beaches in Qingdao, Shangdong Province, are very good.
3. Don't go to Qingdao for the beach. It is cold. Snowfall on a beach is not a good thing. Water is very cold even in summer. Not many westerners there at all. The hotels do not have English speaking staff like in more tourist friendly areas and large cities. If you take the train they will not sell you a round trip ticket. You may have trouble getting back to your point of origin. Some hotels do not allow foreigners period so don't let that taxi drive off until you are sure you have a room.
4. Hanan island is meant to contain some of the best beaches in China. PLus Hong kong has a few good ones too.

6. Silver Beach in Beihai, Guangxi is an awesome place. I went there during the Spring Festival this year. I plan on going back there often!
7. It is difficult to answer this question without knowing your definition of a beautiful beach. I have been to many of the above mentioned places. I love Qingdao, Sanya and Beihai are both beautiful, but I wouldn't go to any of these places if I wanted what I personally consider to be a "beautiful beach." If I want a beach I'll go to SE Asia, but all of the above places are worth visiting for their own flavors. Snow on the beach may not be for some (including myself), but Qingdao is hands down my favorite city in China.
