Enderts Beach and other Secluded Beaches

Kiwis do you agree with me on this?

Even though many people think we're 'off the map' I love this perfect little paradise in the corner of the world. I've lived here all my life - of course theres no place like home, but i wanna know what you guys think. Just so you know I have amibitions to travel the whole wide world. For a teeny little country that has a population of just 4million, and being the 'Youngest country in the world' i think we've done pretty well if not amazingly. For example in sporting [rugby -go AB's- netball etc] we are just so good. We've made history for instance we were the first country to allow women to vote in elections, [ Thats right the rest of the world followed our lead], Sir Ed was the first to climb everest, we've contributed many Kiwi inventions and ratio-wise were one of the most successful countries in sporting events. And then comes the awesome summer BBQs...mmmmm... we aint gonna keep all those sheep and cows for nuttin. Not to mention our true kiwi DIY nature, beautiful coastlines and beaches [no part of NZ is more than 128km from sea] and scenery and many natural treasures..... and its all clean, green and friendly!! We might have had a slow start, but maybe thats why we're so well preserved. And as cocky as this question may sound we have that down-to-earth nature...we dont care about being best in the world... but we love being KIWIS! more facts on here and the net: http://www.flatrock.org.nz/topics/science/strange_nz_facts.htm The list goes on. Id like you to add more please. So whattaya all think? PS: No dissing NZ please!

  1. Yup. I agree. NZ is great. Sure there are some down sides, like every country has, but in general NZ is pretty cool. I have lived in many places around NZ and traveled to the rest of it so I have can say from experience that is it a nice country. I have been overseas, and hope to go again soon to more places. So if Slugger Onions sees this question and leaves an answer saying we are ignorant and probably haven't been outside of NZ, well he/she is wrong, and shouldn't make such assumptions just because he/she doesn't like NZ. Tough, thats his/her problem - deal with it. One thing that I think is cool is that in many other countries around the world NZers are welcomed and liked. We are usually a laid back bunch which makes us easy to get along with. :)
  2. LOL you've lived in NZ all your life? well sweetie you've just shot down your whole argument. If you ever do spend much time outside of NZ I promise at some stage something shocking will become obvious to you. Yeah NZ's done pretty well with Lord Rutherford and that guy who won the Fields medal. And yeah the Electric fence, jetboat and pacific class locomotive all come from NZ. But that was a long time ago now, what have we done since the 2nd world war? We're only really good at Rugby Union and Yachting. Netball isn't a major or serious sport anywhere else and we can't even win at that. You've probably been told this fiction that NZ has the highest # of olympic medals per capita? hate to break this to you but Norway, Hungary, Australia and Austria (to name a few) have all got more medals per capita than us. NZ is insignificant in by far the biggest and most important sport; soccer, while plenty of other small countries are at the top like Uruguay. And we're nowhere to be seen in Tennis or Golf. We simply are not very successful in sports, and kiwis who go overseas make fools of themselves by declaring that we are. NZ's climate is mild temperate, which makes it pretty similar to that of Great Britain. It has to be one of the most ridiculous myths perpetuated by Kiwis that NZ has a hot climate, compared to other new world countries like Australia, Argentina or South Africa we're pretty cold. New Zealand is by capita the 3rd most polluting nation. And NZ has let it's GDP per capita slip from 1st in the world to 30th. Most NZ companies don't survive once they go international. Oh and @ Flipper; hate to break this to you, but Kiwis are NOT liked. We're seen as ignorant, loud, arrogant and stupid pains in the behinds. We are hardly ever even mentioned but on the rare occasion we are it gets a negative reaction from most people in the world, trust me. I think its you who needs to hear the word tough honey, not me.
