Where is the best place to live that has beautiful mountains and beautiful beaches near by?

I was thinking NC, SC, Virginia, or West Virginia. Any input? We would be looking for a place to work and probably renting at first.

I suggest you go to www.city-data.com and compare some places that you are considering. Do you have an income that you would be bringing with you or would you be looking for a job? WV is not a very good place to find jobs. Also, would you buy or rent? You need to compare the cost of housing. Also, compare taxes. For instance, in WV you have to pay personal property tax on your vehicle but property tax might be cheaper than other places. There's also income tax to consider. I live in WV but if I were starting fresh and choosing between the 4 places you listed I probably would not choose WV. Of course, I'm in western WV so I'm about 9 hours from the beach.

Of course the right answer is Oregon. I love going to the Oregon Coast, just wonderful.
