Enderts Beach and other Secluded Beaches

Where is the best place to live that has beautiful mountains and beautiful beaches nearby?

I was thinking North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, or West Virginia Any input?

  1. How about Washington or Oregon? Beautiful, the word doesn't do it justice!
  2. Most places in the Valley of California are about 2 hours from the ocean and 2 hours from the mountains. = )
  3. in some of those states you listed the mountains and coast are very far from eachother...in new england especially new hampshire and maine you can literally see the beach and mountains from wherever you're standing
  4. The "mountains" in North Carolina, South Carolina or the Virginias would be considered just "hills" on the west coast because the mountains are so much steeper and higher in the west. The place where the mountains and the beaches are the closest to each other are on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, along the coast of British Columbia (Canada) or Alaska. If you only want to be able to see the beach and mountains those would be the best places to live. However, the water is too cold to enjoy swimming without a wet or dry suit, so if you want to actually go into the water you might try California or Hawaii where you can also see beautiful mountains and beaches near each other.
  5. Southern California has both (I am about 40 mins from both) but I wouldn't move here unless you have a job lined up already.
