4. I like Pattaya, I wouldn't call the beach there "beautiful" but it is good enough for sunning yourself a bit. Tourists don't swim at Pattaya Beach - walking, suntans and shopping is okay though. I personally don't swim at beaches - I leave that for younger people who have no care about skin cancer! You can swim at nearby Jomtien if you want beach type swimming, most of the hotels in Pattaya that cost more than 800 baht will probably have pools anyway! You can find cheaper hotels in Pattaya than Bangkok, availability of good restaurants in all price ranges, cheap transportation to get you around town makes Pattaya a good bargain! Several good modern malls, interesting nightlife and tourist attractions make Pattaya a good place to relax and have fun at. Pattaya is real easy to get to from Bangkok. By bus the price is around 120 baht or less and the ride is only 2 hours!

8. Koh Phang-ngan has beautiful beaches, go to Bottle Beach (Haad Khuat) on the North, Haad Rin on the South of the Island holds the Full Moon Party each month!
