Beach wedding in Florida??
I have always wanted a beach wedding.....only trouble I live in a very small town in Florida and the closest beach that does decent looking weddings is like 2.5 hours away. There is an island near us that me and my fiance go to a lot which is pretty much secluded and I was thinking of having the ceremony there. What do I need to do to make this happen? I mean can my friends and family just go out there the day of the wedding and set everything up? Do I have to do anything through the city as far as planning or letting them know.........I'm have no idea where to start!

- You can probably rent the space from the city. Just go to the city website where the island is located and look under the parks and recreation department. They will give you a list of parks/properties that they rent. They usually do it for a fairly good fee. If it is secluded then I would still try to inquire with someone. The last thing you want is to have your wedding stopped the day of.
- i think that you need permission before doing all of the stuff,, and probably people will be watching you as you get married if it's not a private resort, which is kinda annoying....
- Well, do you have to apply for a marriage certificate so you need to make an appointment to go to the county clerk's office. You also need to find yourself a person who will perform the ceremony. But, I think your idea of a secluded beach wedding is a wonderful idea. Hope the weather is agreeable that day.
- Find out who owns the island! Someone does own it! It could be owned by the state or city. Does it have a name? You can go to the courthouse or county government building and find out. After finding the owner to make arrangements. They may not mind a couple here and there going out there but if they own it and see a lot of people, they may break your wedding up. Then that would ruin your day. So my advice find the owners and ask. Hope that helps. Here is a site for cheap decorations I am always happy to pass a long. they are good to me and I always use them when planning my events. www. BeeBows.Net Good Luck!
