- Aaahhh! Malapascua Island! I promised myself I'd return there and i guess i should start planning it soon. Stayed there 3 days last April 2007. Wonderful place! Clear warm waters, white sand beaches, friendly people, what more can one ask for... I stayed at the cheaper places and even homestayed with a fisherman's family. We toured the entire island though. Even got to take a peek around the other resorts. Told myself i'll stay at the Mangrove Oriental next time. It has such a lovely setting there. Seems so romantic. Second on my list is Los Bamboos Beach Resort at the very tip of the island. Here's a photo of it -- http://admirephilippines.blogspot.com/ Amazing sunset view from here. I don't know why their website is down but you can still contact them through email: office@los-bamboos.com. Kaanit Beach Resort was still under construction at the time we visited last year. It is owned by a European-Filipino couple who were very nice and gave us a small tour of their place. Beautiful landscaped surroundings. Malapascua Exotic Island Dive and Beach Resort comes highly recommended by many who have stayed here. Haven't tried it myself though. And while you're there, try eating at Ging Ging's Flower Garden. Food is delicious and inexpensive! What a great deal, after finding out that food on the island costs the same as in Manila's restaurants! Hope you and your husband have a grand time in Malapascua Island! Sorry I can't give advice regarding Bantayan Island as we did not venture there yet. But for a weekend getaway, I'm sure Malapascua will be quite an experience already. Happy travels! ^_^
