- I hate Hawaii. Any more sand in my privates and I'll scream. Hope you have fun. I guess. Whoever you are.
- If you are looking for a relatively quite, clean and calm beach, check out Kaiona Beach Park In Waimanalo. The waves are pretty mellow that time of year. There will be a few local Waimanalo residents and not many tourists, but it IS a little more crowded during the week end. It is good for snorkeling, you'll see fish, shells, and you have a good chance of seeing sea turtles. Also, if you don't mind walking in the water to get to it, there is a semi-enclosed area about 75 yards down the beach from the boat ramp that was used for the old T.V. series Magnum, P.I. It is my favorite place to go, and there is a group of local fisherman called "Da Ramp Gang" that help keep the place clean and discourage criminal activity. Here are a couple of links with pictures http://www.to-hawaii.com/oahu/beaches/kaionabeachpark.php http://www.tropicalsnorkeling.com/oahu-snorkeling-kaiona.html Kaiona Beach is easily accessible by bus. You can catch the bus right in Waikiki (RT 23) and around past Makapu'u and Sea Life Park on into Waimanalo. You may have to switch buses at Sea Life Park, just ask the driver. Or you can catch the bus at Ala Moana Shopping Center (RT 57) and ride over the Pali Highway. Both buses will drop you off right in front of the Park. I hope I have helped you and that you have a great vacation here.
- Not sure that many beaches on Oahu could really be classified as secluded. We are just too crowded an island for that. There are beaches that are less crowded than others. If a beach is a "beach park", it will have a parking lot, rest rooms & maybe a life guard. Chances are it will not be quiet. Neighborhood beaches don't have these amenities & will be less crowded. Both Kailua & Ewa Beach have beaches that will fall into this category, but I cannot give you bus directions.
- northe shore Kaena Point is good, i love Mokuleia, Haleiwa is decent and park near Kaena Point and walk a 1/2 in, youll find it great in there!
- Almost all between Kahaluu and Laie on the Windward side. Just pull over anywhere, and there's a stretch of beach. Once you hit Kahuku and head to the North Shore, forget it, it's a tourist trap (with great surfing thought).
