Enderts Beach and other Secluded Beaches

What are some beautiful beaches / top must-see's in Florida?

I am looking for a place for my wife and I to celebrate our 1st anniversary this May. We already live in Orlando, so that part is covered. She loves the beach so I'd like to take her to a clear water beach somewhere here in Florida. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what cities to visit and, even better, which hotels do you recommend?

  1. Sanibel Island on the Gulf side near St. Pete is the BEST for collecting sea shells if you're into that. Sorry I don't know any hotels there, we just stopped along the way, didn't spend the night there.
  2. Personally, I like the Gulf side. My parents retired in the Sarasota area, and I would HIGHLY recommend one of the keys off Sarasota (Siesta, Lido, Longboat, St. Armand's Circle). The beaches there are beautiful, lots of shells, and there are also lots of fun things to do... rent bikes and ride around the islands, really good restaurants, Mote Marine Aquarium, etc. Have fun, and Happy Anniversary!
  3. I grew up in the panhandle, Pensacola, It has the whitest beaches. the water is clear, There is so much to do around there, there is a lot of history to that town, along the coast there are many small towns, Gulf breeze, Navarre, Orange beach, Alabama. But Pensacola is the prettiest beach I have ever seen... I have seen a lot of beaches from the east coast to the west... the Gulf is the Best.
